Fried Banana Peppers
serves 4
Ingredients
6 ea large banana peppers, split and seeded
1 1/2 C flour
1 t salt
1 t white pepper
1 t ginger, ground
1 T safflower oil
2 ea egg yolks, beaten
3/4 C beer, room temperature
Instructions
Blend together the flour, salt, pepper, ginger, oil and egg yolks, then add the beer. Refrigerate at least 3 hours.
Dredge the banana peppers in the flour mixture, then fry at 350 about 1 minute each side, turning once.
Drain on paper towels, season to taste.
Plate and serve.
